Honda Unveiled Walking Assist Device

Honda unveiled a prototype walking assist device that helps both those physically weakened with age or injury as well as workers who would need to reduce the stress on their bodies from heavy work or unusual positions.

The new walking assist device reduces the load on leg muscles and joints in the hip, knees, and ankles by supporting a portion of user's body weight whether they're crouching, walking or climbing stairs.

The structure of this device is simple, it consists of a seat, frame, and shoes, and weighs 6.5kg, including the shoes and a lithium ion battery that can remain operational for about two hours on a single charge.
